You requested a gel-cleanser, and we already had OASIS Deep Pore Gel Cleanser in the works before you even voted on her! We love to co-create products with you, so it’s amazing that you were also wanting a deeply nourishing, daily cleanser for all skin types. OASIS Gel Cleanser delivers with her essential oil-free formula that is gentle enough for all skin, but is especially friendly to blemish and acne prone skin.

We’re formula perfectionists at Earth Harbor which resulted in the revision of OASIS over 100 times to ensure she was perfectly purifying and deeply nourishing. She is a true balancing act, working to cleanse your skin while simultaneously treating it with botanical actives from the ancient-sea desert (these actives inspired OASIS’s creation while we were conducting ingredient field-research!). We truly value your feedback, and while we’re confident OASIS is an ideal cleanser for daily use, we got that backed up with focus groups and consumer perception testing. How to Use

OASIS Deep Pore Gel Cleanser can be used as a daily cleanser. Massage cleanser onto damp skin. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry. For congested skin, use as needed throughout the day.

All Ingredients Explained

Water (Aqua):

Water serves as the liquid base of this cleanser to act as a solvent and improve the formula’s texture and  ease of delivering potent, botanical actives.

Vegetable Glycerin:

A plant-derived, soy-free humectant that draws in moisture and keeps it in the skin.

Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate (plant-derived surfactant):

A cleansing agent derived from coconuts, making it safe, mild, and gentle.

Cocamidopropyl Betaine (plant-derived surfactant):

This plant-derived surfactant is suitable for those prone to eczema and sensitive skin, and is a gentle foaming agent. 

Sodium Methyl Oleoyl Taurate (plant-derived surfactant):

This plant-derived surfactant enables water and oil to blend well. It cleanses impurities without stripping your skin’s natural pH.

White Willow (Salix alba) Bark Extract (Botanical BHA):

The bark of the white willow tree has been used since ancient times as a natural anti-inflammatory agent since it contains plant-based salicin. In skincare, the botanical BHAs (beta hydroxy acids) provide gentle exfoliation for more radiant skin, reduce acne and excess oil, and help to refine pores and give your skin a smooth look.

Plant Chlorophyll:

Plant chlorophyll captures sunlight and transforms it into useful energy for plants to sustain life. This natural powerhouse pigment gives plants (and OASIS!) their green color. It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties to help reduce acne, and is high in vitamins C, A, and E which make your skin healthier overall. Refreshes stressed skin & calms inflammation.

Sea Foam Mineral (Sepiolite) Extract:

These ocean nutrients from sea foam are high in magnesium, an anti-stress mineral, and rich in silicon, a nourishing mineral. Helps to strengthen skin and to give a refreshed, clear complexion. Generally used for gentle face and body cleansing.

Red Sea Moss (Kappaphycus alvarezii) Extract:

Red sea moss extract is derived from red algae, and it is high in beneficial antioxidants and vitamins and is used to soothe stressed or inflamed skin. It is also helpful for those who may have oily skin or acne while delivering supple hydration. 

Desert Date (Balanites aegyptiaca) Fruit Extract:

The desert date tree is native to parts of Africa and the Middle East, and the date fruit is edible and highly nutritious. The extract from the fruits of the tree helps to smooth texture and helps your skin retain water, increasing skin hydration, improving elasticity and promoting cell regeneration.

Shikakai (Acacia concinna) Fruit Extract:

The shikakai tree is native to the dry plains of India. The extract of the shikakai tree is a botanical alternative to harsh soaps and cleansing agents. It has antibacterial properties, and it is also recommended for sensitive skin and skin plumping. 

Baby’s Breath (Gypsophila paniculata) Root Extract:

Baby’s breath plants flourish in dry, sandy conditions and contain beneficial adaptogens. One of these beneficial properties are their natural saponins which decrease surface tension of water to create luxurious-foaming aqueous solutions.

Lilac (Melia azadirachta) Leaf Extract:

The lilac plant is nutrient dense, and the extract of the lilac leaf is a powerful antioxidant and emollient that helps to protect the skin against free radicals and has strong anti-inflammatory and moisturizing benefits.

Panthenol (plant-derived vitamin B5):

A moisturizing vitamin infused ingredient that helps to rapidly moisturize skin.

Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) Leaf Extract:

One of the bases of our wildcrafted herbal complex, aloe vera leaf juice is a rich source of antioxidants, hydration, and vitamins that can help protect your skin and reduce redness.

Lactobacillus Ferment (probiotic):

The fermented lactobacillus (beneficial microorganism) is a natural preservative, and has also been shown to have a potent soothing effect that strengthens skin. Creates a defense against sensitivity, provides instant relief, and can help reduce redness.

Pear Fruit (Pyrus communis) Extract:

Pears are known as a powerhouse fruit since they contain so many beneficial vitamins and other plant-compounds. The fruit’s extract serves as a natural gentle exfoliator that has wonderful hydrating properties to keep skin soft, and also provides OASIS with her wonderful, subtle pear scent. 

Lauryl Glucoside (plant derived surfactant)

This natural foaming agent is made by combining soy-free plant based oils with plant-based natural sugars to create a soothing lather. 

Coco-Glucoside (plant-derived surfactant):

This plant-derived surfactant is used to build viscosity and increases the foaming capacity in natural skincare products, and is compatible with all skin types.

Ancient Sea Salt (Sodium Chloride):

The ocean nutrients contained in ancient sea salt help to deeply cleanse and unclog pores, balance oil production, and decrease bacteria that can cause breakouts and acne. Also, naturally balances your skin’s PH. 

Phytic Acid (plant-derived pH adjuster):

A mild plant-based AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) used for exfoliation and maintaining the skin’s microbiome.

OASIS Gel Cleanser FAQs

How important is facial cleansing really?

Your skin faces many stressors throughout the day. Even if you don’t wear makeup your face has produced its own oils that need to be balanced, sweat that needs to be whisked away, and dead skin cells that need to be removed ASAP. Then there are the outside factors: the pollution, effects of the sun, and impurities that build up in pores and keep skin from being able to breathe and function the way it should. Without proper cleansing, the other products you use day in and day out for protection, treatment, prevention, and maintenance won’t work as well because there are those pesky barriers blocking them. 

When should I use OASIS Gel Cleanser in my skincare ritual versus other Earth Harbor Cleansers? 

OASIS is a great cleanser for all times of the day, morning and night. If you prefer to use just OASIS Cleanser in your ritual, then she is designed for that!

If you prefer a more nuanced cleanse with all the benefits of different types of cleansers (cream, gel, and oil cleansers) then we recommend the following for all skin types:

Mornings:

AHOY LOVE Nourishing Cream Cleanser - designed to be everything skin needs for a morning cleanse

Or

OASIS Deep Pore Gel Cleanser - as needed for congested skin

Evenings:

SUNSHINE DEW Antioxidant Cleansing Oil - first cleanse (to remove difficult makeup, SPF, and grime)

OASIS Deep Pore Gel Cleanser - second cleanse (to remove even more impurities and leave skin ultra clean)

*either of these cleansers can be used as a single cleanse depending on your skin’s needs

What skin type is OASIS Gel Cleanser for?

All skin types! Seriously, her formula is gentle but powerful enough for all skin types, but is especially friendly to oily, combination and blemish-prone skin.

 

What makes OASIS Cleanser different from other Earth Harbor cleansers?

She can truly be used at any time that your stressed or congested skin needs a reset. All of our gems are adaptable, but our other cleansers were designed with specific purposes in mind. For example, AHOY LOVE Cleanser was developed as a nourishing morning cleanse. 

I have congested skin, how many times a day can I cleanse with OASIS? 

As a rule of thumb, you don't want to cleanse more than three times a day because otherwise, you may strip your skin of all of its microbiome-friendly oils. You should find overtime with your customized Earth Harbor ritual that you shouldn’t need to cleanse more than this anyway! 

Is OASIS Cleanser's green color really 100% natural and plant-based?

Yes, she is held to the same standards as all of our gems, and gets her lovely color from plant chlorophyll and other amazing botanicals! 

What makes OASIS Gel Cleanser different than other gel cleansers from other brands?

OASIS utilizes ancient botanical actives from the desert to treat your skin while she also gently purifies without stripping your skin. Many other brands’ gel cleansers simply act as a face wash. As with all Earth Harbor gems, she is 100% plant-based, cruelty free, and has an ocean-friendly formula.  

Will it remove waterproof mascara and other types of makeup? 

We recommend double cleansing starting with our Sunshine Dew Cleansing Oil if you are removing a lot of makeup or difficult-to-remove makeup, then follow your second cleanse with Oasis Gel Cleanser.
